Vinayaka Chathurthi

The Vinayaka Chathurthi celebrations are organised every year by the Lathangi club of Bala Vidya Mandir and is a much looked forward to event. This academic year the Vinayaka Chathurthi was celebrated from the 22nd to 24th of August and was co-ordinated by the members of Lathangi. On all three days, middle and high school students gave both individual and group performances. There was one group from the primary singing bhajans on each day.

On the first day, the chief guest was Ms Shankari Subramaniam, an accomplished vocalist and an alumnus of BVM. She rendered a song in praise of Lord Muruga, Ka Va Va, in the raga Varali.

The chief guest for the second day was Master Sai Adithya, also an alumnus of BVM. The ‘Tala Vrinda’ on this day deserves special mention as the chief guest also joined in and played the Tabla along with the other BVM students playing various other instruments.The third day saw Ms. U Sujatha, renowned musician, as the chief guest. She rendered a devotional song and gave all the budding musicians a words of advice.Prasadam was distributed on all three days. The end of the three day celebrations left the audiences reverberating with devotion to lord Ganesha.

 

 

 

 

Alumni

On 24th of December 2009 about sixty alumni members, teachers and support staff, congregated at the school campus for a re- union. Students as early as the 1988 batch revisited their alma mater to connect with their juniors, teachers and support staff of the school.
