Teacher's Day

The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called "truth."

Teacher's Day is a tribute to the hard work and devotion of the teachers all year long, to educate a child. In India, teacher’s day is celebrated on 5th of September every year since 1962. It is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a zealous advocate of education and one of the greatest scholars and teachers of all times, apart from being the first Vice President and the second President of India.

Teacher's Day is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Bala Vidya Mandir. The day is dedicated to teachers, who play a prominent role in the life of their students. The teachers act as the guide for life, show the path towards success and enrich the personality of their disciples by imparting ethical and academic knowledge.

An entertainment programme was organized by the students of class 11 on 5th September 2009. Semi classical songs were rendered by a group after which a speech on the essence of teacher's day was delivered by the Assistant Head boy Varun KS. A group of students performed an English song and it was very special as it was their own composition. The song was accompanied with flute, drums, keyboard, guitar and Gangira. The Hindi song-Teri Deewani was performed by a group of girls. Both boys and girls danced to scintillating music and it was a treat to the eyes. The teachers participated in the games conducted by the students.
