The staff of BVM and BVM GLOBAL started around 7 a.m as scheduled from the BVM premises, for their annual picnic on 23rd January. The first halt was at Siruvapuri temple – in keeping BVM tradition to think of the Almighty before the commencement of any activity. After this break the buses headed directly to the corporate office of Sricity, where the teachers were warmly welcomed by the staff of Sricity. This was followed by a sumptuous breakfast.
This splendid feast for the stomach was followed by an even more wonderful feast for the eyes – the bird sanctuary at Nelapattu. The teachers were shown a magnificent documentary picture on migrating birds which had found their home in Nelapattu. A tour around the sanctuary unfolded a spectacular sight of the Pelicans, Ibis and other migratory birds.
There was also a quick visit to an Amman temple followed by a bus ride through the SEZ zone. The lunch session was preceded by a small birthday celebration for Mr.S.S.Nathan whose birthday fell on the next day. Good wishes poured out of every heart present there.
The teachers sang and danced before embarking on their journey back. The plants that were gifted to the teachers was a fitting moment to mark the need of the day – ‘Grow green, go green!’
On 24th of December 2009 about sixty alumni members, teachers and support staff, congregated at the school campus for a re- union. Students as early as the 1988 batch revisited their alma mater to connect with their juniors, teachers and support staff of the school.
