The annual sports meet for the academic year 2011 – 12 was held on 4th September at the Anna University Sports Pavilion. The day’s proceedings began with the March Past performed by the students of the four houses, Neelkant, Nangaparbhat, Kailash and Kanchenjunga. The lighting of the BVM torch followed and the Sports Meet was declared open by Dr S.Sivanesan Ph.D,Chairman,Anna University Sports Board. The torch bearers for this year were N.Sriniram,P.Preethi,Niranjan.G.Narayanan,Malvika Sridhar, S.Vaibhav,Idhalya Ravi,Sucharitha.K.S.,Charulatha.R and B.Abinash who have done the school proud on numerous occasions.
The events commenced shortly after the oath was taken by the office bearers. The hallmark of the day was the breaking of many records set as early as 1993. A breathtaking relay for students was the highlight of the day. It was followed by a fun filled teacher’s relay which was an exciting part of the programme. A thrilling obstacle race organized for the students of class XII marked the end of the day’s events.
The prize distribution ceremony was held on 4th September 2011 which was graced by the presence of the honourable Chief Guest Dr.R.Subramanian Ph.D,Associate Professor & Head , Dept of Advanced Training & Coaching,Tamilnadu Physical Education & Sports University, Chennai - 48. The students of class VI, VII and VIII performed a spectacular drill. Later, the medals were handed over to the prize winners by the Chief Guest. The overall shield was awarded to Nangaparbhat house for their extraordinary performance. The following students were awarded the individual championship in recognition of their overall performance:
