Senior Sports Day

The annual sports meet for the academic year 2009 – 10 was held on 28th August at the YMCA ground. The day’s proceedings began with the march past performed by the students of the four houses, Neelkant, Nangaparbhat, Kailash and Kanchenjunga. The lighting of the BVM torch followed and the sports meet was declared open. The torch bearers for this year were Ananya Ravi, Prashanth Sreenivasan, Pallavi Shanbah, Harshan, Srikanth Nathan and Punya Srikanth who have done the school proud on numerous occasions.

The events commenced shortly after the Oath was taken by the office bearers. The hallmark of the day was the breaking of many records set in early 2000.

A breathtaking relay for students was the highlight of the day. It was followed by a fun filled teacher’s relay which was an exciting part of the programme. A thrilling obstacle race organized for the students of class XII marked the end of the day’s events.


The prize distribution ceremony was held on 29th August 2009 which was graced by the presence of the honourable Chief Guest Mr.M.S.Nagarajan. The students of class VI, VII and VIII performed a spectacular drill. Later, the medals were handed over to the prize winners by the Chief Guest. The overall shield was awarded to Kanchenjunga house for their extraordinary performance. The following students were awarded the individual championship in recognition of their overall performance:

  • Junior boys – Sriniram
  • Junior girls – Sucharitha
  • Senior boys – Hariharan
  • Senior girls – Sahitya.M
  • Super Senior boys – Srikanth Nathan
  • Super Senior girls – Ananya Ravi

 

 
 

Alumni

On 24th of December 2009 about sixty alumni members, teachers and support staff, congregated at the school campus for a re- union.
