‘INTO THE BASKET’

The CBSE National level basketball tournament was held at The Velammal International school, Ponneri between 12th December 2011 and 17th December 2011. 32 teams qualified and participated from all over India and Gulf countries at the cluster level. These 32 teams were divided into eight pools for league matches and both winner and runners up of each pool were selected for the next knock out matches.

The BVM basketball team emerged as winners by winning over all other  teams, in that pool. As a result of winning all the matches with a high margin and scoring in the league matches our team got special seeding and entered  the quarter finals directly.

As per the Knockout fixtures of CBSE nationals we played the CBSE cluster V winners, The Sherwood Hall, and lost in the quarter finals. It is a feather in the cap of BVM’s basketball team as it is the first time the team has entered the quarter finals in the CBSE National basketball tournament.
