PRIMARY SPORTS DAY

The annual sports meet of the primary school of Bala Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School was held on 2nd February 2008. As is the custom, the Super Senior sports champion was the chief guest. This year Aditya Murali took the salute of the march past in which the students of classes IV & V took part.

The function began with the school prayer. The sports day was well attended by many parents. They participated in an event for parents in large numbers. After the march past students of class I did a few stretching exercises. They were followed by the students of class II. Here the drill exercises were slightly complicated and the unison with which the children executed their movements was a feast for the eyes.

The children of class IV used hoops to demonstrate their co-ordination in their drill exercises and the formation of the Roman letter “x” was very skillfully executed.
This was followed by the aerobics of the girls of classes III & V. The energetic movements and rhythm that the children kept up through out their performance was an inspiration to the audience. The culmination of it in the formation of the Tamil letter “pa” was breathtaking.
The boys of classes III and V were equally spectacular in their exhibition of various formations in their “pyramids” the Human mountains and hills of various sizes and shapes. The finale where all the 199 students took part, some in the lotus posture and others in various formations was well demonstrated.

This was followed by the chief guest speech and prize distribution ceremony. 42 children received gold medals and an equal number received silver medals. The whole program came to an end after the vote of thanks was read with all the happy and tired children joining in the National Anthem
