KG School Day

Celetrated on 23rd February 2008

The bi-decennial KG School Day was celebrated on 23rd February 2008. Mrs. Geetha Nandakumar, Vice Principal of Bhavan's Rajaji Vidyashtram, Chennai was the Chair person. The students of lower and upper kindergarden participated with atmost enthusiasm. The programme commenced by invoking the blessings of almighty which was followed by Tamil Action Song - "pasumaiyil milirum". This song extots the beauty of the world we like in, while at the same time introduces the five elements - space, wind, fire, water and land by the nature that finds its place in every one of us.

The tiny tots enacted an action in English to show their love for PLANET EARTH, our home they became the stars in the sky, the buzzing bees in the garden, the flowers on the land, the trees that nourish the planet, the rain drops and the sea that bring down the rain.

The students of LKG staged a play "The Beautiful garden and the Butterflies" which tells us the story how hungry bees grow a beautiful garden full of nectar, helped by the insects, birds, bunnies, dogs, the clouds and the rain. Through this, we must remember that the only reason that such enormous numbers survive is through the marvelous co-operation not only among them but also with nature.

Life on earth depends on all its resources for survival. If removed or disturbed, the balance is upset which in turn disturbs the survival of everything around. Trees being one of its prime components in maintaining this balance, our little tots from KG enacted an action song in Hindi to say how useful these trees and the need to grow them.

We can only imagine how dearly the world would be, if there were no colours to brighten it up. Children of UKG presented a lay that underlined how necessary coulurs are to make our world attractive, beautiful and cheerful.

Our KG school day was colourful and very enjoyable.
