Karuna Club
The Karuna Club develops in its members a comprehensive outlook of compassion and love for all living beings. It helps a child realize its social importance and encourage a source of involvement in preventing cruelty and in protecting harmony in the co-existence of man, animal and nature.
THE KARUNA CLUB ACTIVITIES
July
Students of class VIII participated in poster making – ‘Say no to Leather’.
August
Students of class VIII visited an Old Age Home – Kakkum Karangal. They distributed Bread and Biscuits to the inmates of the Kakkum Karangal.
Students of class VIII to X participated in the painting competition conducted by the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals(SPCA) and won prizes.
September
Rose Day was celebrated at Cancer Institution on 22nd sep 2010. Students of class VIII collected apples, dates and Hamam soaps from classes I to VIII and distributed to the inpatients of the Cancer Hospital at Adyar.
November
Drawing competition was conducted for the students of class I to V on the topic “Animals”.
October
Students of class VIII planted saplings in the school campus.
December
‘A handful of rice per day’- was collected from the students of class I to VIII for Blue cross.
