Kalanjali Ventures 2010

FUN TIMES AT BVM

Bala Vidya Mandir Sr. Sec. School, Adyar conducted their annual cultural extravaganza ‘Kalanjali Ventures’ on the 28th and 29th July, 2010. As its tradition, the event was entierly organized and conducted by the students of class XII under the able guidance of Mrs.Jayanthi Palani(Teacher Co-ordinator) .

The first school-level culturals in the city, Kalanjali received an overwhelming response with over thirty schools participating in various events that spanned over two days. Even the rain couldn’t dampen the spirits at BVM, with preparations being underway from April. Events like light music, fusion dance, JAM (Just-A-Minute), Kitchen Chronicles, Young Advocates, Block and Tackle, Shipwreck and Therukuthu were conducted.

Keeping up the celeb quotient were eminent personalities Dr. Nithyashree Mahadevan (chief guest), Oscar-awardee Tanvi Shah, actress Aparna Pillai, dancer Vinu John, cinematographer Ganesh, Drums Unni, Actor Shiva, VJ Pooja, RJ BIG Imsai Arasi and many more, who lit up the festivities with their impromptu crowd-pleasing performances.

The winner of the Ultimate Ventures event was R. Ashwin from PSBB Nungambakkam. He won a Sony Vaio netbook. PSBB Nungambakkam were the overall winners of the event. The visiting schools were spoilt for choice when it came to food stalls. Both days sped by in a whirl of fun and merriment, leaving the participants eagerly awaiting next year’s Kalanjali.

 
 

Alumni

On 24th of December 2009 about sixty alumni members, teachers and support staff, congregated at the school campus for a re- union. Students as early as the 1988 batch revisited their alma mater to connect with their juniors, teachers and support staff of the school.
