Investiture

“The old order changeth yielding place to new”

 

As an event that marks the new office bearers taking over the school, the investiture ceremony for the academic year 2009-2010 was held in Bala Vidya Mandir at the Vidyapeet auditorium on June 12. It was a nostalgic moment for class XII as they took part in a school programme as students for the last time. This august occasion was presided over by Mr. B P Mandal, the head of CLRI.

 
     

The day's programme started with a prayer after which the audience were treated to melodious songs by students of class X and XI. The annual report of the school was then presented and here, the achievements of students in various fields were mentioned. After this the newly elected office bearers assumed their posts. T .Gowtham Kumar and Pranathi Diwakar took office as the Head Boy and Head Girl. The post of the assistant head boy was taken up by K S Varun and Kruthika Sri Krishna became the assistant head girl. .

 
     

The captains of the different houses were also presented their badges. Kavya Rajendran became the head of Kailash house and Ranjith, the head of Kanchenjunga. The captaincy of the Neelkant house to Varsha Jaishankar and Sethu Nachiappan became the captain of Nangaparbath house. Punya Srikanth and Visweswaran were elected the Sports Secretary and assistant sports secretary respectively. All office bearers took up the oath administered to them by Aneesh Shenai, the former head boy of the school.

 
     
It was followed by an emotional outgoing speech by the former head boy and girl Aneesh Shenai and Sanjana Prakash. The chief guest Mr. B. P. Mandal then addressed the students on the occasion and wished the school all the best and success in all its future endeavours.  
     
He then felicitated the students for their excellent performance in Class X and XII board exams. Akshay Ramachandran, who topped the school in Science stream with 485/500, was awarded for his outstanding performance. Kavita Anand, topper of commerce stream with 480/500 was also honoured. In class X, Arjith Retna and Ashwin Shridhar were awarded for their outstanding performance (483/500).  
     
Students were also given prizes for excelling in various subjects and exhibiting their talents in many extracurricular activities. The function then came to an end with the National Anthem and it became one of those occasions that would remain etched in the memories of all for a very long time.  
     
 
 
 

Alumni

On 24th of December 2009 about sixty alumni members, teachers and support staff, congregated at the school campus for a re- union. Students as early as the 1988 batch revisited their alma mater to connect with their juniors, teachers and support staff of the school.
