Inauguration of Clubs

Inauguration of Clubs - 17th June 2009

Wednesday, 17th June marked the inauguration of clubs at Bala Vidya Mandir. After the morning prayers, the ceremony began with a brief report on the various activities of the clubs in the previous academic year. The various clubs at Bala Vidya Mandir are – Interact Club (a sponsored unit of the Rotary Club of Madras), Cultural Club, Karuna Club, Dramatics Club, Literary Club, Commerce Club (an offshoot of the senior secondary Commerce group), Humanities Club and Science Club.

The CEO of BVM group of schools Mr. S. S. Nathan then addressed the students on the importance of clubs. He narrated an anecdote from his own life, which gave the students a better idea of how important it is to take part in extra- and co-curricular activities too, along with academics. His speech was greatly appreciated by all the students with a sense of nostalgia, especially the seniors.
He also congratulated the students of the present XI for their excellent performance in the Board exams. Following the speech, the clubs were officially declared open. This meant that all the various club presidents and vice-presidents could wear their badges from this day on!
On a more serious note, the inauguration of clubs marked the stirring of the wheels of club events in this school, and over the next few months, BVM will hopefully witness a flurry of activity, and all the students will “find their calling”, in the words of our CEO.
