The 5th annual Inter-School Mathematics Expo of Bala Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Adyar was held on Friday, January 25, 2008. Dr. A. Vijayakumar, Professor of Mathematics & Chairman, Faculty of Science & Humanities, Anna University presided over the function. It was conducted by the students of class 11. The expo was held for students from classes 6 to 11, in the junior and senior levels, comprising of the Quiz, Sudoku, Model Making, PowerPoint Presentation, Math through Music and Math through Dance events.

Around 30 schools participated, with 500 students in various events, making the expo a great success.

The Math Expo is organized every year, with the objective of making math the favourite subject amongst students. It is an attempt to focus the presence of math and its concepts in one’s everyday life activities. The spin-off of event is the participants’ extention of math from classrooms to otherwise.
