Kalanjali Ventures the annual inter school cultural event organized by Bala Vidya Mandir was presented for the 12th year in succession on June 22 and 23, 2007. The festival was inaugurated by Mr. N. Murali (THE HINDU). This year there were 23 events, which included Light Music, Classical Music (Solo), Kitchen Chronicles, Folk Dance, Shipwreck, Quiz, Adzap, Web Page Designing, Glass Painting, Crossword/Sudoku, Advocates to name a few. Three new events were included this year, namely “Clue Do”, “Out of the Way” and “Whose Line is it Anyway”, all of which were a great success. 30 schools from all over Chennai participated.

Kalanjali Ventures 2007, had some exciting prizes, and the events were judged by eminent personalities from the field of art and Journalism. In the Ultimate Venture event, which identifies the “Talent of the show”, was won by ARJUN VASUDEV, PSBB, K.K. Nagar. The overall trophy was bagged by VIDYA MANDIR SR.SEC.SCHOOL MYLAPORE.

The entire cultural festival was conceived, organized and funded by and through the students with the help of 54 sponsors. The main sponsor for the fest was ITC Sunfeast.

Given the challenging and exciting opportunity to organize such an event, the students of Bala Vidya Mandir gained valuable experiences in teamwork, time management, and working under a budget, bringing forth their managerial capabilities to successfully conduct the festival. On the whole students of Bala Vidya Mandir were most fortunate in being exposed to a thoroughly challenging, enjoyable and invaluable experience of conducting Kalanjali Ventures 2007.
