HOME COMING

On 24th of December 2009 about sixty alumni members, teachers and support staff, congregated at the school campus for a re- union. Students as early as the 1988 batch revisited their alma mater to connect with their juniors, teachers and support staff of the school. It was indeed heartening to see a couple of students who came along with their wives.

The evening began with the registration of the members accompanied by a cool welcome drink. At about 5.45pm the choir group of alumni members rendered the school prayer (Om sahana vavathu…). As Mrs.Sashikala remarked, it was heart-warming to know that the students remembered the school prayer despite having left school.  Saranya (School Head Girl 2005 - 06 batch) welcomed the gathering and invited Mrs. Sashikala the new Principal of the school to address the gathering.

Mr. Nathan (CEO- BVM group of schools) also shared his thoughts with the students. A visual quiz on the mile stones achieved by the school over the years was put together by Sriram Sekhar, which the alumni members enjoyed. This was followed by high tea.

During tea members interacted with teachers and other members of the community. Teachers recalled with nostalgia the mischief and pranks some of the students were involved in during their schooling days at BVM. Many alumni members were very happy at the efforts that the school took to organize the re-union and promised to volunteer more actively for the re-union during the next year.
